Keep Playing. You’ll Get it.

Fitness is a journey, not a destination.

Along the way you will encounter highs and lows, success and failures. It’s all a part of our quest to be our best selves. You must take the good with the bad.

Perseverance is the key!

You’ve started something new, and you were sticking to it like you told yourself you would. Then life happens. Something came up and you missed your activity. Maybe you missed a whole week. Vacation, illness, injury, car troubles – all reasons why you may have dropped the ball.

Tomorrow you will start again.

Tomorrow has come and gone many times now. You may be thinking all your efforts are a lost cause. You need to start all over. NO WAY! Put your feet on the floor and get going again. Pick up where you left off. Lace up those shoes, air up those bike tires, pack your gym bag; whatever it takes – put your best foot forward. Keep going. No matter how slow you go, you are still moving in the right direction.

Me time

Making changes and creating habits takes time and effort. If you really are struggling, take a moment to reflect why you are attempting to make changes in your life. It may be to have “me time,” feel better, to challenge yourself. Revisit your plan of action. Schedule that appointment with yourself.

Once you get going, good things are bound to happen. When you take time for yourself – and do something you enjoy – your mood will improve. That’s always a good thing! You may start to incorporate more healthy habits. You may start seeing some results. As you progress and get better, you will start setting goals for yourself, and achieving them. These are the things that will help motivate you to keep going.

Stick with it!

No matter what, just stick with it! Be flexible with yourself. You will not be perfect and that’s okay. You may fall off the wagon a few times before you get it right. As long as you keep trying, you will keep getting better. It’s only when you stop trying that you have been defeated.
